WORKING WITH THE COMMUNITY
We are proud to be working together with Upper Culm Community Land Trust (CLT) to provide affordable housing for local people.
Eight properties at Lower Greenfield have been sold to the CLT and will be offered for affordable rent, shared equity purchase and discounted market sale.
The new properties will become available in summer 2019.
The Parishes of Hemyock and Clayhidon came together to form a CLT in 2012. Land Trusts are not-for-profit organisations set up by local people to help improve or protect their village or neighbourhood.
The Upper Culm Community Land Trust is a Community Benefit Society, registered with the Financial Conduct Authority. The CLT is a democratic membership being open to all members of the parishes of Hemyock and Clayhidon.
In 2017 the CLT achieved Registered Provider status with the governments Homes & Communities Agency. This allows the CLT to to operate as a housing association in its own right.
It’s with this new authority that the CLT is purchasing the eight new properties from Otter Construct at Lower Greenfield and will manage the homes itself.
